JaGUN fired in elections at Kadapa

YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy Friday retained the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat with a record majority of over 500,000 votes. The son of late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy won with a majority of 543,053 votes.

But apart from the impromptu celebrations ofJagan's victory in the Kadapa bypoll, Hyderabadis in general put a question mark on whether Jagan's roar would be heard across the state or would it remain restricted to the geographical limits of Kadapa or at best Rayalaseema region.

Several others too felt Jagan's victory in Kadapa is not indicative of his hold on the entire state. They said he could emerge as a voice from Rayalaseema region just like his father but may be unable to cut ice in other regions, particularly Telangana. "Also, what we saw on Friday was Jagan's victory in one seat.
