Indian Premier League



The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional league for Twenty20 cricket competition in India. It is administrated by BCCI with it's headquarters at Mumbai. It started it 2008 after BCCI had an altercation with ICL. When it started there are eight teams and this year two more new teams were added. The format they follow is double round robin and knockout. So far three tournaments occured and this year's event being the fourth one.





In a cricket loving country like India, the IPL is a feast to the audience. It not only entertains the audience but also provides good career options for the youngstars. There are people who give up their studies with the dream of being a part of the Indian cricket team. This tournament acts as a perfect platform for them. The players not only earn money but also have an opportunity to show case their talent. The IPL is given great importance by the selectors in selecting the international team. The youngstars get great experience as they not only play with their heros but also the great players all over the world. This helps them a lot when they play for their country as players gain confidence and courage throught this tournament.



Not only INDIAN domestic players are getting benefits, even players from different countries are being benefited and getting the fame. Best example for this statement is Shane Watson and Shaun Marsh.
